The story is about a boy called Trevor.
Trevor had to go to the hospital
to have his appendix taken out.
When Trevor woke up
after his operation his appendix was in jar of yellow liquid next to him.
Before Trevor went to sleep at night he put his appendix in the fridge
because he thought it would go off. In the middle of the night Trevor's mum decided to get some food from the fridge.
There was a loud scream when she saw the jar with his appendix in it. The next day Trevor went to school and put his appendix jar on his desk. Everyone couldn't stop looking at it. They wanted to know what that grey awful, fleshy, foul thing in the jar was. They didn't know if it was dead or alive. Trevor had to go to the library to get information about the body. When he was going to get the book he felt dizzy and thought he was about to faint. When he went back to the classroom he was better. The teacher told Trevor that, when he was away from the classroom his appendix in the jar was moving angrily trying to get out of the jar. The teacher said to Trevor, "go outside the school gates and count to five. Then come back to the classroom." Again when Trevor was away from the classroom it jumped wildly but when he came back and picked up the jar the appendix were OK and calm. The principal had to take the jar with the appendix in it away from Trevor. Then the principal took it into his car and the appendix became angry again and the lid nearly came off. When the lid was about to come off the principal thew the jar onto the footpath. A cat saw it and went and hissed at it. The appendix then ate the cat like a vacuum cleaner. A dog came along and barked so the appendix ate the dog as well and then it rolled into the drain. Trevor sat by a drain and his appendix came out and went on his knee. Trevor said they must be together so he swallowed his appendix so they could be together forever.
